# Tell us how you use Knit

> Tell the developer how you use Knit and what it did for you. Add a star rating if you like, then post your story on GitHub or send it by email.

Did Knit get a message through when nothing else would? Maybe you use it somewhere unusual, or for something we hadn't thought of. Write a few lines, add a star rating if you like, and pick where it goes.

## Where your story goes

Share on GitHub opens a new discussion with your words already in it. You read it, edit it and post it from your own GitHub account, so it's public. You need a free GitHub account.

Share by email opens your mail app with a message to hello@getknit.app. It goes to the developer's inbox, not to a public page.

## What happens to your rating

A rating is sent when you share your story or choose Send just my rating. The site stores the number and the date. To stop one person rating over and over, it also keeps a keyed hash of your IP address, not the address itself, and deletes it after 30 days. The hash isn't linked to your rating, and your story never passes through our server.
