Knit brand assets
If you're writing about Knit or showing it in a talk, these are the logo files to use. Each one comes as a vector SVG and a 2048 px PNG, and you can use them as they are whenever you're pointing people to Knit.
Every logo in SVG and PNG, plus the usage terms.
Logos
Pick the version made for your background. Light files go on white or pale backgrounds. Dark files bring their own plum background or sit on a dark one.
Horizontal logo
The one to reach for in most articles and slides.
Stacked logo
For square or narrow spaces. The plum version works as an avatar or a social card.
getknit logo
It reads like the getknit.app address, which helps on posters and in print.
App icon
The mark on its plum tile, edge to edge, for places that round the corners themselves, like app directories and profile pictures.
Mark
The K on its own, for small spaces or when the name already appears nearby.
One-colour icon
For single-colour printing, and for photos or busy backgrounds where the full-colour art would get lost.
Colours
The logo uses four colours. Use these values to match it, say for a slide background behind one of the dark files. The wordmark is black on light backgrounds and Mist on dark ones.

Typeface
The wordmark is drawn from Geist Regular, a free typeface from Vercel released under the SIL Open Font License. It's converted to outlines in these files, so you don't need the font installed to use them. If you're setting text beside the logo, Geist will match it. This site uses it too.
Using the logo
Do
- Clear space. Leave room around the logo at least as wide as one of its red dots, on every side.
- Minimum size. Keep the mark at least 24 px (6 mm) tall and the horizontal logo at least 96 px (25 mm) wide, so the dots stay distinct.
- Busy backgrounds. The full-colour files need a plain background. On photos or patterns, use a one-colour icon.
- The name. In text, write Knit with a capital K. The lowercase knit belongs to the logo.
Please don't
- Recolour any part of the logo, or add gradients, shadows, glows or outlines.
- Stretch, squash, rotate, tilt or crop it.
- Move, resize or swap the parts of a logo, or retype the wordmark in another font.
- Place it on a background it blends into.
- Combine it with your own logo or build it into a new mark.

You're welcome to use the files on this page, unaltered, to refer to Knit. That covers articles, reviews, videos, talks, guides and app directories, and saying that your project works with Knit.
These terms don't cover:
- suggesting that Knit, or its developer, endorses or sponsors you or your product
- using the logo, or anything confusingly similar, as the name or icon of your own app, project or service
- selling merchandise that carries the logo
- changing the files (see Using the logo, above)
The Knit app's code is open source under GPLv3, and forks are welcome under that license. The license covers copying and changing the code. It doesn't give anyone the right to use the Knit name or logo as their own brand, so please give your fork its own name and icon.
